How to Get to Giardini Naxos
By Rail: Giardini Naxos has its own train station, Taormina–Giardini, on the Messina–Catania line operated by Trenitalia. Regional and intercity trains connect the town to Messina in around 45 minutes and to Catania in approximately 1 hour. The station is located just outside the main resort area, with buses and taxis providing regular transfers to the seafront and hotels.

By Road: Giardini Naxos is situated on the Ionian coast of north-eastern Sicily, about 50 kilometres south of Messina. The drive takes around 50 minutes via the A18 motorway. From Catania, the distance is approximately 55 kilometres, with a journey time of about 50 minutes via the same route. The town is well connected by motorway and coastal roads, with parking available near the beaches and around the town centre.

Nearest International Airports:

  • Catania Fontanarossa Airport: Located about 60 kilometres south of Giardini Naxos, with a drive of around 1 hour via the A18 motorway. This is the closest and most convenient airport, offering numerous domestic and international flights.
  • Reggio Calabria Airport: Situated roughly 90 kilometres northeast, taking about 2 hours by car including the ferry crossing between Villa San Giovanni and Messina. It provides domestic services and limited international routes.
  • Palermo Falcone Borsellino Airport: Approximately 270 kilometres west, with a journey time of around 3 hours and 30 minutes via the A19 and A20 motorways. It offers a wide range of national and European connections.
