The beach of Spisone is situated on the Ionian coast of Sicily, within the Metropolitan City of Messina province. Spisone is part of the comune of Taormina, the main town that sits at the top of a hill which can be accessed via cable car from Isola Bella.

Places of interest nearby include Mazzarò, Capo Taormina and Giardini Naxos. Catania Airport is 49 minutes away by car.

History
As with many beaches in Sicily, there is limited historical information specifically about the history of Spisone Beach. However, the area around Taormina has a rich history dating back to ancient times when it was inhabited by the Sicels and later became a Greek colony.

The town of Taormina was founded by the Greeks in the 4th century BCE and was later ruled by the Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, and Normans, each leaving their mark on the region's history and culture.
