The city of Fiumicino is located within the Metropolitan City of Rome province and has a population of 80,470 inhabitants.

​Covering an area of 213 km², it's situated on the Tyrrhenian coast, 32 kilometres south west of Rome, the capital city of Lazio. The main attractions of Fiumicino are its riverside restaurants and various beaches. It's also the location of Rome's main airport.

Fiumicino is a coastal town located in the Lazio region of Italy, situated along the western outskirts of Rome. It is renowned for its proximity to Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport, Rome's main international airport, making it a significant gateway for travelers arriving in the capital city. Fiumicino offers a unique blend of seaside charm, historical landmarks, and a vibrant fishing community.
 History
The history of Fiumicino dates back to ancient times when it was known as Portus, an important Roman port city. During the Roman Empire, Portus served as a vital trade and maritime center, connecting Rome to various regions of the Mediterranean.

Over the centuries, the area went through numerous changes and faced various invasions and settlements. In the 20th century, the development of the Fiumicino Airport contributed to the town's growth and transformation into a hub for international travel.
