Gizzeria Lido, situated on Calabria’s Tyrrhenian coast near Lamezia Terme, is known for its long sandy beach and popularity with kitesurfing enthusiasts. Accommodation in the town itself is mostly small-scale, so visitors often turn to established hotels in the wider Gulf of Sant’Eufemia area.

Pizzo Calabro Resort (approx. 20 kilometres south) provides resort-style facilities with pools, sports areas, and direct beach access, suited to families and longer stays (€€€). In Lamezia Terme, Hotel Ashley offers modern rooms close to the sea, with a restaurant and easy access to the airport and railway connections (€€€). How to Get to Gizzeria Lido
By Rail: Gizzeria Lido has its own train station on the Paola–Reggio Calabria railway line, served by regional trains running along the Tyrrhenian coast. Direct services connect with Lamezia Terme, Vibo Valentia, and Reggio Calabria. Journey times include around 20 minutes to Lamezia Terme Centrale and under 2 hours to Reggio Calabria. The station is a short walk from the seafront.

By Road: The town is accessible from the SS18 coastal road and is around 15 minutes (12 kilometres) from Lamezia Terme, 1 hour (60 kilometres) from Cosenza, and 1 hour 20 minutes (90 kilometres) from Reggio Calabria. Free and paid parking options are available near the beach and central areas.

  • Lamezia Terme Airport: Located just 10 kilometres away, with a driving time of under 15 minutes. This is Calabria’s busiest airport, offering a wide range of domestic and seasonal international flights. Airport transfers, taxis, and car hire services are available.
