​The beach of Is Arutas is situated along Sardinia's western coast and forms part of the Sinis Peninsula. 

​Belonging to the Province of Oristano, Is Arutas is one of a series of beaches along the peninsula which can also boast the nearby Sa Mesa Longa, Tharros and Putzu Idu. Cagliari Elmas Airport is an hour and 29 minutes away by car, a distance of 117 kilometres.

Is Arutas is a unique and stunning beach located on the central-western coast of the Italian island of Sardinia, in the municipality of Cabras. It is renowned for its distinctive and unusual sand made of tiny quartz grains in various shades of pink, orange, and white. ​
History
The formation of Is Arutas beach can be traced back to the natural erosion of granite rocks and minerals from the nearby Sinis Peninsula. The constant action of the sea and wind has ground down the rocks into small, smooth quartz grains, giving the beach its extraordinary appearance. The colors of the sand come from the various minerals present in the rocks.
