The pretty Lake Misurina in the northern Italian region of Veneto is located in the Belluno Province, close to the ski resort of Cortina d'Ampezzo and the town of Auronzo di Cadore.
It has a surface area of 15 hectares and a maximum depth of 5 metres. The surface elevation of the lake is 1,754 metres above sea level. The most convenient airport for Lake Misurina is Treviso. |
This is one of the most spectacular lake settings in the Veneto region with the beautiful Dolomites casting a dramatic backdrop. It's a popular spot during the summer and winter with hotels, bars and restaurants dotted around the lake.
The best way to reach the lake is by car; with public transport it gets a bit complicated as you need to take buses that only run during the summer or reach the nearest train station (Calalzo-Pieve di Cadore-Cortina), which is 40 kilometres away. By car it's just 22 minutes drive to Cortina or around an hour and a half to the provincial capital Belluno.
