​The town of Magliano de Marsi is situated within the Province of l'Aquila and has a population of 3,596 inhabitants.

Standing at an elevation of 728 metres above sea level, it covers a total area of 70 km².

Magliano de Marsi's most famous sight is the Chiesa di Santa Lucia in the town centre. This is a useful stop for motorists with a service station and main motorway junction on the A25. 

​There are two hotels within a 7 km radius while nearby places of interest include Avezzano, Tagliacozzo, Celano and Ovindoli.
