There are so many beautiful towns and villages in Abruzzo that it's impossible to put them all on one page so we have this scenic towns of Abruzzo section and allocated the pages under different category headings. Then there's a large section of Hill Towns with Silvi Paese and Pizzoferrato two particular favourites of mine. The Orange Flag (Bandiera Arancione in Italian), is an award given by the Touring Club Italiano to towns that meet certain criteria around aesthetic beauty, the environment and facilities for tourists. |
There are six such towns in Abruzzo including the incredible Roccascalegna and the quaint little town of Opi which sits in the Abruzzo, Lazio & Molise National Park.
