Natural Sights of Umbria

Among the most interesting natural sights of Umbria we find a selection of lakes and one of Italy's most famous waterfalls.

Umbria is one of the few Italian region that doesn't have a coastline but it makes up for that with some lovely lakeside locations. By far the largest lake in Umbria and the 4th largest in Italy is Lake Trasimeno with a surface area of 128 km². A handful of resorts are dotted around the lake while three small islands occupy its centre.

The Marmore Waterfalls complex offers one of the best days out in the region with a series of well-marked paths to explore.
