The Marmore Waterfalls are one of the main visitor attractions in the Umbria region. Situated in the Province of Terni, just a short distance from the city of Terni itself, the whole waterfall complex is open to the public and also comprises a series of nature trails.

​Nearby places of interest include Piediluco, Lake Piediluco, Narni, San Gemini and Spoleto. Perugia Airport is just over an hour by car.

The Marmore Waterfall (Cascata delle Marmore) is a stunning natural wonder located in Umbria, Italy, near the town of Terni. Its history dates back to ancient times when it was originally created by the ancient Romans in 271 BC.
History
The Romans constructed an artificial canal to divert the waters of the Velino River to prevent flooding in the surrounding plains. The result was the creation of the magnificent Marmore Waterfall, which became a popular attraction even in ancient times.
