Parks of Basilicata
Latest update: 18 February 2022
Among the parks of Basilicata we find one of Italy's 25 national parks which straddles two regions, along with a series of smaller parks that remain away from the typical tourist trail.
The Pollino National Park was established in 1993 and covers an enormous 1,925 km² with an area to the north in Basilicata and the southern area belonging to neighbouring region of Calabria. Some of Basilicata's most beautiful open spaces can be enjoyed at smaller, regional parks such as the Appennino Lucano Val d'Agri Lagonegrese and Parco della Murgia Materana near Matera. |
