This collection of parks of Valle d'Aosta represents a mixture of large and small; each one quite different from the other.

There are a total of 25 national parks of Italy and one of those is shared between Valle d'Aosta and the neighbouring region of Piedmont to the south. The Gran Paradiso National Park was in fact the first to be awarded that status and combines dramatic mountain scenery and the chance to find wildlife such as the ibex.

Much smaller in scale are the Mont Avic Natural Park at the top of a steep mountain road and the Parc Animalier d'Introd.
