The historic town of Pomarance is situated within the Province of Pisa and has a population of around 5,000 inhabitants.

Standing at an elevation of 370 metres above sea level, it's located a distance of 94 kilometres south west of Florence, the regional capital of Tuscany. Nearby places of interest include Volterra, Casole d'Elsa and Castelnuovo di Val di Cecina.

Pomarance is a small town located in the province of Pisa, in the northern part of Tuscany, nestled within the hills of the Val di Cecina. The town offers a peaceful and authentic Tuscan experience, surrounded by rolling hills, forests, and farmland. Pomarance's position on a hill provides stunning views of the surrounding countryside, with its olive groves and vineyards contributing to the rural charm of the area. The town’s historic centre, with its traditional stone buildings and narrow streets, reflects its medieval roots and offers a sense of timeless beauty.

One of Pomarance’s main attractions is the Church of San Giovanni Battista, located in the heart of the town, which boasts beautiful artwork and a serene atmosphere. The town is also close to the Larderello geothermal area, which has been used for energy production since the late 19th century. The geothermal power plants and natural steam vents provide an intriguing glimpse into Tuscany’s industrial history, and the area’s landscape is dotted with hot springs and thermal waters.
