​The town of San Casciano dei Bagni is situated within the Province of Siena and has a population of around 1,500 inhabitants.

It stands at an elevation of 582 metres above sea level and is included in the list of Borghi Più Belli d'Italia (most beautiful villages in Italy). Places of interest nearby include Radicofani, Cetona, Sarteano, Bagni San Filippo and Chiusi. 
San Casciano dei Bagni is also included in the list of Bandiera Arancione (Orange Flag) towns. It's a spa town whose waters contain healing properties and it has an attractive medieval centro storico at the entrance of which is Piazza Matteotti.

History
The history of San Casciano dei Bagni dates back to ancient times when the area was known for its natural hot springs and thermal waters.
