The town of San Gemini is situated within the Province of Terni and has a population of around 4,500 residents.

It stands at an elevation of 345 metres above sea level and is included in the list of Borghi Più Belli d'Italia (most beautiful villages in Italy). Places of interest nearby include Terni, Acquasparta, Marmore Falls, Lake Piediluco and Narni. ​

San Gemini is a charming medieval town located in the region of Umbria, Italy. Nestled amidst the rolling hills and lush landscapes, this picturesque town has a rich history dating back to ancient times. ​
History
San Gemini traces its origins to the ancient Umbrian civilization, and its historical roots can be seen in various archaeological finds scattered across the area. During the Roman era, the town was known as Interamna Nahars (Interamna on the Nahars River) and played a significant role as a junction point on the ancient Roman road, the Via Flaminia, which connected Rome to the Adriatic Sea.

Throughout the centuries, San Gemini experienced periods of prosperity and decline, influenced by various rulers and historical events. It was once a thriving medieval center, featuring defensive walls, towers, and grand buildings. Over time, the town flourished under the rule of noble families, such as the Arnolfi and Trinci, leaving behind impressive palaces and churches that still grace the town's landscape.
