  • Spiaggia di Scario includes small stretches of pebbly beach along the edge of the village, with clear water and access to lidos during summer months. While the main beach is compact, boats and water taxis provide transport to more secluded coves in the nearby Cilento coastline.
  • Chiesa dell’Immacolata Concezione stands close to the harbour and dates back to the 18th century. The church features a simple façade and a bell tower, with an interior that includes a painted ceiling and marble altars. It remains active in local religious celebrations.
  • Porticciolo Turistico is the village’s small marina, used by both local fishermen and visitors. During the summer, it becomes a departure point for boat excursions to the protected areas of the Costa della Masseta, including beaches only reachable by sea.

How to Get to Scario
By Rail: The nearest train station to Scario is in Policastro Bussentino, located around 6 kilometres away. It lies on the Naples–Salerno–Reggio Calabria line, operated by Trenitalia, with regular regional trains connecting to Sapri, Salerno and Naples. From Policastro Bussentino station, taxis are available to reach Scario in about 10 minutes.

By Road: Scario is accessed via the SP17 and SP104 provincial roads. It is about 15 minutes (10 kilometres) from Sapri, 1 hour 20 minutes (80 kilometres) from Salerno, and 2 hours (160 kilometres) from Naples. The town has several small car parks near the harbour and along the promenade.

Nearest International Airports:

  • Naples International Airport: Located around 190 kilometres away, with a driving time of about 2 hours 30 minutes. It provides frequent domestic and European flights. Travellers can reach Scario by train to Policastro Bussentino followed by a taxi, or by private transfer.
  • Lamezia Terme Airport: Approximately 200 kilometres south, just under 3 hours by car. It serves a number of Italian and international destinations and offers car hire and taxi services for reaching the Cilento coast.
