Located in the region of Lazio, Alvito is a hill town in the Province of Frosinone with a population just over 2,600 and an altitude of 475 metres above sea level.

It's situated in the Comino Valley, very close to the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park while the close by towns of San Donato Val di Comino and Sora are among the other highlights of the local area. 

The recommended accommodation for Alvito is the Hotel Il Cavalier d'Arpino which is 21 kilometres away in the town of Arpino.

History
​Alvito has ancient origins, dating back to Roman times when it was likely a settlement along the ancient Roman road known as the Via Latina. During the Middle Ages, the town developed as a fortified center under the rule of various noble families, including the Caetani and the Colonna families.

The historical center of Alvito still retains much of its medieval character, with narrow alleys, stone houses, and ancient walls. Over the centuries, the town has been a witness to regional conflicts and cultural exchanges, leaving behind a rich historical heritage.
