The hill town of Caltabellotta is situated within​ the Province of Agrigento, a distance of 113 kilometres south of Palermo, the regional capital of Sicily. 

Standing at an elevation of 949 metres above sea level it has a population of around 3,500 residents. Nearby places of interest include Sciacca, Sambuca di Sicilia and Bovo Marina.

Caltabellotta is a charming hilltop town located in the Province of Agrigento in Sicily, Italy. Situated at an altitude of approximately 950 meters (3,117 feet) above sea level, the town offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and the Mediterranean Sea.
History
Caltabellotta has a rich history dating back to ancient times. It was originally settled by the ancient Greeks, and its strategic hilltop position made it an important fortified town throughout history.

The town was ruled by various civilizations, including the Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, and Normans. Its historical significance is evident in the remnants of ancient walls, watchtowers, and churches that dot the landscape.
