The station is on the Rome–Campobasso line operated by Trenitalia, with regional services to Campobasso in about 1 hour and 10 minutes and to Rome in roughly 2 hours and 30 minutes. From Isernia, the journey to Castelpetroso can be completed by taxi or local bus.
By Road: Castelpetroso is located in central Molise, a short distance southeast of Isernia. From Isernia, the drive takes around 20 minutes via the SS17. From Campobasso, it is approximately 45 kilometres away and takes about 50 minutes by car via the SS87 and SS17. Parking is available near the Sanctuary of the Addolorata and within the lower part of the town.
