The town of Iesi is situated within the Province of Ancona and has a population of 39,969 inhabitants.
Standing at an elevation of 97 metres above sea level, it covers a total area of 107 km². There are four hotels in the town centre while nearby places of interest include Cingoli, Ostra, Corinaldo and Serra San Quirico. |

Dating back to the 4th century BC, the town has a colourful history; one of the most important events to take place here was the birth of Holy Roman Emperor Federico II in 1194. His birth took place while his mother, Constance Queen of Sicily was in transit towards her kingdom and so important was it that the child was proven to be hers, she had a tent erected in the town centre so that when she gave birth, the townsfolk could come and witness that the child had been born to her.
