The Ancona Province occupies a total geographical area of 1,940 square kilometres, including the city of Ancona, the provincial capital and regional capital of Marche.
Within the province there are 49 provincial towns, known as communes (comune singular or comuni plural in Italian), containing a total population of around 471 thousand inhabitants. |
Among the highlights in the province are the seaside town of Sirolo, the Frasassi Caves, Corinaldo, Numana and historic Iesi.
