  • Castello Normanno-Svevo stands on a hill above the Sant’Eufemia district and dates back to the 11th century. Though in ruins, its towers and defensive walls are still visible, and the site offers wide views over the plain and the Tyrrhenian coast. The area is accessible by a short walk from the lower town.
  • Terme di Caronte are thermal springs located just north of the city, known since Roman times for their sulphurous waters. The spa complex includes treatment facilities, a wellness centre, and natural outdoor pools. The springs remain active and are open seasonally to visitors.
  • Cattedrale dei Santi Pietro e Paolo is located in the Nicastro district and was rebuilt in Baroque style after an earthquake in the 17th century. The church features marble altars, stucco decoration, and paintings by local artists. It remains one of the city’s main religious and architectural landmarks.
  • Museo Diocesano di Lamezia Terme is housed in the former bishop’s palace near the cathedral and displays religious art, silverwork, manuscripts, and liturgical items. How to Get to Lamezia Terme
By Rail: Lamezia Terme has its own train station, Lamezia Terme Centrale, which lies on the main north–south line connecting Reggio Calabria with Naples and Rome. High-speed and intercity services operate regularly, with travel times of around 1 hour 30 minutes to Reggio Calabria, 2 hours 30 minutes to Naples, and under 5 hours to Rome. The station is a short taxi or bus ride from the town centre and coast.

By Road: The town is served by the A2 Autostrada del Mediterraneo, with direct exits for the Lamezia area. It is roughly 40 minutes (35 kilometres) from Catanzaro, 1 hour 10 minutes (90 kilometres) from Cosenza, and around 2 hours (155 kilometres) from Reggio Calabria. Parking is widely available in the town centre and at the airport.

  • Lamezia Terme Airport: Located just 3 kilometres from the city centre and reachable in under 10 minutes by car or local bus. This is Calabria’s main airport, offering frequent domestic connections and seasonal international flights, with taxis, buses, and car hire services available onsite.
  • Crotone Airport: About 110 kilometres away, with a driving time of around 1 hour 45 minutes. It handles a smaller number of flights, mostly to other Italian cities.
  • Reggio Calabria Airport: Situated roughly 135 kilometres to the south, with a car journey time of approximately 2 hours. It serves a limited number of destinations, primarily in southern Italy.
