How to Get to Miglionico
By Rail: Miglionico does not have its own train station, but the nearest one is in Ferrandina, about 20 kilometres away, on the Battipaglia–Metaponto line operated by Trenitalia. Regional trains connect Ferrandina to Matera by bus link in about 40 minutes and to Taranto in roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes. From Ferrandina, local buses and taxis provide access to Miglionico.

By Road: Miglionico is located in the province of Matera, around 25 kilometres southwest of Matera. The drive takes about 30 minutes via the SS7 and SPexSS271. From Potenza, the distance is roughly 70 kilometres, with a journey time of around 1 hour and 20 minutes via the SS407. The town is easily reached by regional roads, with parking areas available near the centre and close to Castello del Malconsiglio.

  • Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport: Situated about 110 kilometres northwest of Miglionico, with a drive of around 1 hour and 40 minutes via the SS96 and SS7. This is the most convenient airport, offering frequent domestic and international flights.
  • Brindisi Salento Airport: Located roughly 140 kilometres east, taking around 2 hours by car via the SS106. It provides several Italian and European routes.
  • Naples–Capodichino International Airport: Approximately 210 kilometres west, with a journey time of about 2 hours and 50 minutes via the A16 motorway. It offers extensive national and international connections.
