The village of Ornano Grande is situated within the Province of Teramo and has a population of 422 inhabitants.
Standing at an elevation of 495 metres above sea level, it belongs to the comune of Colledara. Although the village itself is quite small with just a few shops and a couple of churches, it can act as a good base from which to visit the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park with its one hotel: the Locanda del Parco. The snow-capped mountains of the Gran Sasso surround the village from where it's just a short drive to the heart of the park. |
