The Province of Teramo occupies the northernmost territory of Abruzzo, sharing a border with the regions of Lazio to its west and Marche to its north.
There are a total of 47 towns within the province with city of Teramo the provincial capital and a total population of just over 300,000. |
Most tourist activity takes place at the seaside towns along the Adriatic such as Giulianova, Silvi Marina, Tortora and others, but there's much more to see in the interior as well.
Fascinating hill towns such as Civitella del Tronto and Atri are well worth a visit while its impossible to ignore the allure of the Gran Sasso National Park with its snow-capped peaks and mountain villages like Pietracamela of particular interest.
