Provinces of Veneto

The seven provinces of Veneto combine to make a total of 566 comunes with a total population of just under 5 million inhabitants (4,905,854). Each of the provinces of Italy is named after its major city and the total size of the region is 18,345 km². Every province in Italy has a number of comunes (comuni in Italian) which are towns or local governing areas.
The Metropolitan City of Venice has the smallest number of comunes (44) in Veneto with the largest number belonging to Vicenza (114). The province with the largest land mass is Belluno (3,610 km²), with Rovigo the smallest (1,819 km²). |
The two provinces with the highest populations are Padua (937,908), Verona (926,497) and Treviso (887,806) while the biggest province in terms of square kilometres, Belluno, has the smallest population (202,950).
