The town of Sorbo San Basile is situated within the Province of Catanzaro and has a population of 797 inhabitants.

Standing at an elevation of 605 metres above sea level, it covers a total area of 58 km².

​The town has one hotel while nearby places of interest include Catanzaro, Squillace, Catanzaro Lido and Caminia.

Sorbo San Basile is located in a remote part of Calabria, in the hills just north of Catanzaro. It lies just around the corner from nearby Taverna which is included in the Orange Flag list of towns.
