​The village of Spinoso is situated within the Province of Potenza and has a population of 1,408 inhabitants. 

Standing at an elevation of 649 metres above sea level, it covers a total area of 378 km². The closest hotel is 20 km away while nearby places of interest include Moliterno, Viggiano, Marsico Nuovo and Guardia Perticara.
