The Valpelline Valley is one of the many pretty valley regions of Valle d'Aosta which splinters away from the main valley area.
Heading north from the city of Aosta, the Valpelline Valley gradually climbs and follows the route of the River Buthier. The scenery becomes more dramatic and remote the further you go, with interesting stops at villages such as Valepelline, Bionaz and Oyace available along the way. The crowning glory of the valley and the reason for many people's visit, is the reservoir of Lago di Place Moulin along which it's possible to take a scenic hike. |
