The Blue Flag locations in Abruzzo relate to the beaches that are recognised on an annual basis by the association that governs the scheme to promote clean water and a healthy environment.

A total of 49 countries around the world participate in the Blue Flag programme which carries out regular and rigorous checks to ensure that all bathing areas meet their strict criteria.

In 2021 there were more than 400 beaches given the award in Italy with 13 towns in Abruzzo named among them. You can see the updated list via the Bandiera Blu website link below.
