The seaside towns of Abruzzo occupy the region's long stretch of Adriatic Coast which is characterised by flat, sandy beaches.

Largest of these seaside locations is the city of Pescara which is the most populous city in Abruzzo. Beyond Pescara there are around half a dozen seaside municipalities as well as the smaller beach resorts which are typically frazioni of a larger comune.

Giulianova is one of Abruzzo's favourite seaside resorts while Ortona with its Castello Aragonese offers something a little different and Francavilla al Mare has beautiful aquamarine water.
