Gorizia Province

The Gorizia Province used to occupy a geographical area of 467 square kilometres including the provincial capital: Gorizia.
Within the province there were 25 provincial towns, which contained a total population of around 139,000. Among the highlights of the province were the towns of Cormons, Monfalcone, Gradisca d'Isonzo and the seaside town of Grado.. |
On 30th September 2017 Gorizia Province ceased to exist when the administrative system in Friuli Venezia Giulia changed. There are now 18 Intercomunal Territorial Unions, two of which contain land that was once within the Province of Gorizia. The two territories concerned are the UTI Carso Isonzo Adriatico and the UTI Collio - Alto Isonzo.
