The hill town of San Pantaleo is situated within​ the Province of Sassari, a distance of 294 kilometres north-east of Cagliari, the regional capital of Sardinia. Standing at an elevation of 166 metres above sea level, it has a population of around 1,100 residents.

Some of the nearby places of interest include Porto Rotondo, Spiaggia Capriccioli, Porto Cervo and the Costa Smeralda.
