Beach Resorts of Basilicata

The beach resorts of Basilicata are split between the region's two coastal areas. The largest seaside area of Basilicata is in the Matera Province where there are a clutch of resorts on the Ionian Coast.

Across on the opposite side of the region, facing west, the two resorts of Maratea and Acquafredda are situated on the Tyrrhenian Coast. This is arguably the prettier of the two coastal areas with its jagged rocks and little bays of bright aquamarine sea.

Some people prefer the flatter strips of beach and that's what the Ionian Coast provides with Lido di Policoro among the best.
