The Calabria by the Sea section details the hundreds of seaside locations in the region which has three coastlines.
We start with the Seaside Towns which includes all of the official municipalities, known locally as comuni. Within this section we find Calabria's three outstanding seaside towns of Tropea, Scilla and Pizzo where in each case, an historical borgo leads down to a beach fringed with stunning crystalline waters. The Beach Resorts of Calabria relates to the smaller towns or frazioni where the main focus during the summer is the sea. |
This includes some outstanding resorts such as the beaches of Capo Vaticano, the resort of Le Castella where a castle lies across the water accessed via a stone bridge, and the two beautiful beach towns of Marina di Belvedere and Cittadella del Capo. A total of 27 resorts make that list with other notables including Cirella and Vibo Marina.

Of course the two categories above include some of Calabria's best beaches but there's another list still, where apart from the beach there's very little else. Another 16 beaches make this list which is headed up by Caminia, Tonnara di Palmi and Copanello.
