The beach of Squillace Lido is situated on the Ionian Coast, in the Province of Catanzaro in the southern region of Calabria.
It belongs to the Comune of Squillace and lies 20 kilometres south of the city of Catanzaro, the provincial capital. Squillace Lido is a long expanse of beach that stretches eight kilometres up to Catanzaro Lido to the north and Copanello Beach to the south. |

Squillace Lido is the beach resort of the hill town of Squillace which lies six kilometres inland. The attractive hill town is the historic highlight in this part of Calabria with its castle and cathedral. This is an area dominated by the seaside with the slightly more intimate environs of Copanello just two kilometres south of Squillace Lido while the nicest beach on this stretch of coast, just around the headland is Caminia where the water is particularly blue. The next beach resort south of Caminia is the quiet and unassuming Montepaone Lido.
Slightly more built up and offering more in the way of travel facilities are Catanzaro Lido eight kilometres to the north and Soverato, fifteen kilometres in the opposite direction. Both Catanzaro Lido and Soverato have train stations which Lido di Squillace doesn't.
